Privacy Policy

SIFTRAW ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered data cleaning and analysis tool. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it — including any data accessed through your Google account — and who we share it with. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@siftraw.com.

We process the files and datasets you give us directly: CSV files you upload, and Google Sheets you connect. We also collect the account information needed to authenticate you — your name, email address, and profile picture, obtained via Google Sign-In — and basic technical data (such as browser type and error logs) needed to operate and debug the service. Uploaded data is handled in-memory during your session and is never written to persistent storage.

When you connect a Google Sheet, SIFTRAW uses Google's file picker so you can choose exactly which file to share with us — we never see a list of your other Drive files, and we cannot access any file you have not explicitly selected. Based on your selection, we access:

• The specific spreadsheet you select — read access to that file's contents, and write access only when you explicitly choose to export cleaned data back to it.
• Basic profile information — your name, email address, and profile picture, used solely to identify your account and sign you in.

We do not request or access your Gmail, Google Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google product or data category — and within Drive, our access is limited to only the individual file you pick, never your broader Drive.

Google user data is used exclusively to provide the features you request: reading the spreadsheet contents you connect so SIFTRAW can detect and fix data quality issues, run analysis, and — if you choose — write the cleaned dataset back to your sheet. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not build behavioral profiles from it, and do not use it to train any AI or machine learning model.

SIFTRAW's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Most of SIFTRAW's cleaning pipeline — duplicate detection, formatting fixes, encoding repair, outlier detection, and similar transformations — runs entirely on our own servers using our own logic, without sending your data anywhere else.

For a smaller set of features that require natural-language reasoning (for example, "Let SIFTRAW Decide" fill suggestions, plain-English chat queries, and AI-generated summaries), we send a limited, targeted subset of your data to third-party AI inference providers — currently Groq and Google's Gemini API — strictly to generate the specific response you requested. We do not send your entire dataset for these requests; typically only the relevant column names, a small sample of affected values, and your question or instruction are transmitted, and only for the duration needed to generate a response. These providers process the data under their own privacy and API terms and do not use it to train their models on our behalf.

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.

Your uploaded and connected data is held in memory only for the duration of your active session. When your session ends, all data — including any temporary copies used for processing — is permanently deleted. We do not maintain backups of your uploaded datasets.

All data transmitted to and from SIFTRAW, and to the third-party providers described above, is encrypted in transit using TLS. We do not write your uploaded data to any persistent storage, and access to session data is limited to the systems necessary to process your request.

You may revoke SIFTRAW's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions. Since we do not retain your data beyond your session, ending your session or revoking access ensures no further data is accessible to us.

We may update this policy as SIFTRAW evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date below, and significant changes affecting Google user data will be communicated before they take effect.
